IF I DON'T NEED CORRECTION TO READ, CAN I STILL BUY APTICA FILTERED EYEWEAR?
Yes, even if you don't need eyewear with a correction you can still buy Aptica Filtered Eyewear. Some of our models are Plano power (+0.00) that are specially made to help protect you from blue light even though you don't need correction.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF APTICA FILTERED EYEWEAR?

WHAT ARE READING GLASSES?
Reading glasses are glasses with magnifying lenses that help people with presbyopia. Presbyopia is an eye condition regularly associated with old age where the eye lens loses elasticity and thus loses the ability to focus on objects that are close by.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN READY READING GLASSES AND PRESCRIPTION GLASSES?
The main difference between ready reading glasses and prescription glasses is that ready reading glasses are made with + diopter lenses that magnify up-close objects and they are sold over the counter, without the need of a prescription from your optometrist. Prescription glasses are much more varied as they are made specifically to match the prescription you received from an optometrist and can have a combination of + and – lenses. Prescription glasses are usually more expensive than reading glasses because the lenses are made bespoke for each customer. Ready reading glasses aren’t as expensive and they are therefore often better to take away on holidays with you, or to leave in different rooms if you’re the kind of person to forget to carry them around with you. Another great advantage of ready reading glasses is that you can try out many different styles without spending a fortune for this privilege.
WHEN SHOULD YOUR CLIENTS BUY READY READING GLASSES?
This is perhaps the most common question. You should buy ready reading glasses when you need a little extra magnification when you’re reading something up close. This condition is called presbyopia and it affects the majority of people eventually – although most of the affected are between 35-45. The best way to know whether or not you need ready reading glasses is to go the optometrist. However, there are a few tell-tale signs that can help you spot presbyopia:
- If you have frequent headaches, it may be a sign that you’re focusing too much when you’re reading.
- If you have to hold a book, magazine or even telephone at arm’s length in order to see it clearly. In fact, sometimes this can be so subtle that you don’t even realise you"re holding the reading material too far away - An achy shoulder may be a sign that you’re doing this.
- If your eyes fatigue when you’re working on a computer or reading a book.
- If you usually need brighter light in order to read comfortably, then it’s a clear sign that you may need ready reading glasses.
CAN I REPLACE MY OWN LENSES IN APTICA FRAMES?
No, our glasses are not intended for lens replacement, so we can’t guarantee a positive result. However, you can always ask your optician about what they think.
CAN I GET GLASSES WITH DIFFERENT STRENGTHS IN EACH LENS?
Unfortunately not. We only have ready-to-wear glasses in strengths +0.00 to +3.50 with the same strength in both lenses.
HOW DO I LOOK AFTER MY GLASSES?
Your Aptica glasses are hard-wearing and they come with an original pouch in which they can be safely stored. When cleaning your Aptica eyewear, use a polishing cloth and wash them occasionally with a mild soap or detergent.
WHAT IS FLEX HINGE ?
In the arms of our eyewear we integrated a spring, called flex hinge, helping the frame to fit your face making the glasses very comfortable to wear.
WHAT ARE BIFOCAL SUNGLASSES?
Our bifocal sunglasses are composed of two sections. The bottom area of the lens incorporates the prescribed reading power while the upper part remains unmagnified acting as a normal pair of sunglasses.

I HAVE A PROMO CODE AND IT IS NOT WORKING, WHAT CAN I DO ?
Promo-codes are words we use to tell our online store that you should receive a discount at checkout. This can be a for example 25% or a 2x1. They are usually valid for a limited amount of time and over certain products only. Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever. If you cant find the frame you are looking for, please send us a picture of the inner side of the temples. We will be able to find the style and check if it has been re-stocked under a different name. If it is not available we will recommend you the best possible substitute.
